December Updates

Hello Friends,

Above you'll see some of the holiday ornaments I've been working on in my ceramics class. I'm starting my third year at this craft center, and it's hard to imagine my life without it. Each Monday, I attend class with an amazing group of women. We talk about life and we make things. Nothing fancy. Incredibly meaningful.

If I don't have class for a week, for one reason or another, I find that I don't feel like myself. I suspect that this is a combination of missing the community and the benefits of working with our hands, both of which have become lost (or taken) from many of us.

Anyway, if you were looking for a sign to register for that creative class in the new year, this is it. Do it.

Life Lately

I've been wrapping up a very busy semester, probably the busiest of my teaching career. I've got about two weeks to go, and then I'll be enjoying a much appreciated break. In addition to teaching, I'm also deep into book promotion work, which means you are all going to be very sick of me in January, so be forewarned! But if you enjoy hearing me yap, you'll have plenty of content. I've been interviewed for a bunch of podcasts and will be sure to share those with you as they release.

Book Stuff

Speaking of the book, JHU Press is offering a sweet deal right now for 40% of all books. You can order An Educator's Guide to ADHD through them here on their website. Use code HHOL25 through 12/7 for your discount.

Reviews Request

As the book makes its way into your lives, can I ask a favor? Would you be so kind as to share a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads? Those reviews are a huge driver of readers' purchasing decisions, and your 3-minute review is a great, small way to support me and the book. Thank you for all your continued support!

Virtual Workshops

My friend Niya Bond (that's Dr. Bond now!) and I had a great time hosting the recent OneHE webinar on AI and asynch online teaching and learning. Thank you to Dasha from OneHE for all her behind the scenes work supporting this session. Thanks to Dasha, the webinar and lots of extra resources (all free!) are up now on the OneHE website. Please use and share.

And if you'd like to book me for a virtual workshop or keynote with your team, please do visit my website for details.

That's all for me for now. I wish you and your loved ones a happy, safe, and joyous holiday season. I know the holidays are hard for many of us. Hang in there. I wish you peace as you navigate through those challenges.

Take care, friends.

Hello Friends, It's finally spring here in Massachusetts. We had another burst of snow yesterday, but I think that was the last of it. I do love the coziness of winter, but I'm ready to touch grass and spend more time outside messing around in my garden and reading in my hammock. ADHD & Student Retention I've been spending quite a bit of time talking to folks in higher ed about the ADHD book and how we can better support our amazing ADHD learners. One point that I keep thinking of is this:...
